The ever-increasing burnout in the healthcare sector necessitates the implementation of AI-sponsored voice-recognition technology in the examination rooms. Though EMRs are a useful technology, they have not been able to alleviate the burden on nurses. The Michigan health system implemented an AI-based voice recognition tool called DAX, or Dragon Ambient, created by Nuance, that automates the update of EMR and increases the privacy of doctor-patient interaction. This transcription is able to record data and reduce paperwork for the paramedics. Initially, a human proofreader monitors DAX regarding the quality of transcription. Later on, the AI-tool becomes efficient by learning to transcribe better. While it ensures the intimacy of the interaction and reduces burnout, DAX is also a powerful tool that reduces the cost of the overall procedure.
