Drug-Resistant tuberculosis may have a treatment from new class of antibiotic

A study published in the journal PLOS Biology by Ho-Yeon Song of Soonchunhyang University in the Republic of Korea informs that a new class of antibiotics has shown to be very effective against drug-restistant tuberculosis. This drug may become revolutionary as bacteria had become excessively drug-resistant in the past years. The study also demonstrated that the new drug only targeted the tuberculosis bacteria without effecting the other bacteria present in the gut.
