Engineer at Stanford to develop tiny robots for targeted drug delivery

Mechanical engineer at Stanford has developed a wireless millirobot to deliver drug to a targeted place, thereby assisting healthcare in nearing targeted drug delivery. These multifunctional robots will have the ability to swim through narrow areas to dispense medicine at the desired place after investigation. Research lead, Renee Zhao, is working on various robots simultaneously, including magnetic controlling robot. This initiative will maximise health outcomes and minimise the need of invasive procedures. Unlike other medication that is dispensed in the whole body, these robots will help enable targeted drug delivery.
