Japan gives $1 million funding to improve maternal and infant care in Cambodia

Japan has deposited a fund of around $1.17 million to the United Nations Population Fund. The endowment will go specifically to the UN’s sexual and reproductive health agency to keep the crucial sector, i.e., maternal and neonatal care, work smoothly amidst the pandemic. The fund is targeted at relieving burden off healthcare workers and improving the provision of essential reproductive and newborn health services by introducing digital health features such as virtual visits and telemedicine. The funding will also be used to enhance the emergency department by providing ambulance services for newborn and maternal care.
