Sanofi to fund startups and healthcare providers in lower-income countries

Sanofi, a Paris-based pharma behemoth, has collected funds which will be used to support healthcare-focused startups and innovators in the lower-income developing countries. Pharmaceutical companies are taking these initiatives. Earlier last month, Pfizer informed that it is ready to provide 23 of its drugs at not-for-profit price in 45 countries to help them. Sanofi had this plan prepared since last year and now is all set to expand it. The aim of this initiative is to establish sustainable local entities. Jon Fairest believes that startups from the African continent are more innovative in term of digitisation. However, since they do not get the recognition they deserve, they do not receive investment and funding.
