Pharma companies are implementing tele-medicine for medical prescriptions to patients. If you visit a medicine manufacturer’s website, you might find a button saying “Ask Your Doctor” that will take you to a third party page. This page assesses your eligibility for a drug after asking questions. Before you schedule an appointment, the website will tell you beforehand if you are eligible for the drugmaker’s particular medicine, says Ross Pope, chief operating and financial officer for Prescribery, a company that provides tele-health integration to the drugmakers. When the script reaches a pharmacy, some coupons might be issued, or insurers can be urged to cover these prescriptions. According to Stat’s report, the increasing telemedicine trend will provide patients with easy access to medicine. Though it might seem like a more efficient way, there are still some issues that need to be addressed.
