Weight loss drug Ozempic on shortage after promoted by TikTok users for weight loss

Ozempic, a drug used to treat diabetes, is on shortage due to high consumer demands after it goes viral on TikTok for weight loss. General practitioners (GPs) have been urged by The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to prioritise Ozempic for diabetes type 2 patients by limiting its prescription to patients. Ozempic is a pharmaceutical drug produced by Novo Nordisk, a Dutch pharmaceutical company. After the trend went viral on TikTok, individuals from Australia informed that Ozempic was opted by them on their GP’s prescription. However, to help diabetic patients, the prescription of Ozempic will be limited.
