White House pilot programme will create personalised meals under Medicare

On Wednesday, the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health will make recommendations for a pilot programme to include medically specialised meals in Medicare Advantage plans. The Biden administration on Tuesday unveiled a plethora of fresh initiatives to “eliminate hunger and minimise diet-related diseases and inequities.” According to Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, dean for policy at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition, medically customised meals like those provided by Community Servings can assist solve both issues in the short term. However, other programmes are required to alleviate hunger in the long term.
