Taking on a preventive health approach, Zerodha is offering as hefty a bonus as half the salary to the employees who will keep their BMI under 25. The founder, Nitin Kamath, says that the Indian healthcare system does not have the infrastructure to handle the burden of inpatient treatments for most citizens. So, a proactive approach towards employee wellness has the potential to lessen several risks. Experts believe that a huge financial incentive may be able to reduce the ill health ratio in India, which has been the same for many decades.
